The Teleka Plane is a hidden layer of reality within the Galaxa universe. It exists beneath the Median Plane, forming a vast reservoir of lifeforce essence that sustains blood, vitality, and organic being. To mortals it is rarely known directly, but mystics and alchemists have long whispered of its presence as the wellspring of life itself.

Nature of the Plane[edit]

The Teleka Plane is not a landscape with sky or terrain but an endless current of vital energy. Those who glimpse it describe it as a sea of flowing light and blood, pulsing like the veins of the universe itself. It has no matter in the conventional sense, only essence that mortals perceive as liquid or radiant streams.

Access and Use[edit]

Access to the Teleka Plane is extraordinarily dangerous. It cannot be reached through ordinary magic, but can be breached through:

  • Alchemy and blood rites that pierce the boundary of the Median Plane (Galaxa).
  • Rituals of Bio-Alchemy, particularly those performed by the Balorian Witches.
  • Forbidden soul-transmutation practices that tether a living being directly to the lifeforce currents.
  • Those with Teleka Attunement can connect directly to it through Psionic projection.
  • Some technologies exist that have broken into the laws of Metaphysics such as the Teleka Drive which phases ships and other vessels into the Teleka Plane. This phasing allows for faster-than-light travel.

The most infamous interaction is the creation of Igazi, an alchemical substance made by enhancing blood with essence drawn from the Teleka Plane.

Role in Technology and FTL Travel[edit]

Beyond alchemy and sorcery, the Teleka Plane is also the foundation of one of Galaxa’s most advanced technologies: the Teleka Drive. By breaching the lifeforce currents in a controlled manner, ships can anchor themselves to the plane’s flow and ride it beyond the limitations of the Median Plane (Galaxa).

This process allows for faster-than-light travel, as vessels move along streams of essence that bypass conventional space. The technique is not without peril: a destabilized drive can cause catastrophic lifeforce drain, leaving crews desiccated or vessels infused with parasitic entities from the plane.

While the Divine Parents do not forbid Teleka Drives, they are closely monitored. Divine law demands safeguards against reckless use, and entire civilizations have been judged for abusing Teleka technology.

Corruption and Risks[edit]

Drawing upon the Teleka Plane carries severe risks:

  • Lifeforce Drain – The practitioner’s own essence may be siphoned back into the plane.
  • Mutation – Exposure warps bloodlines, creating abominable forms of life.
  • Spiritual Parasitism – Entities within the Teleka Plane may attach themselves to mortal hosts.
  • Madness – Prolonged contact warps the mind, blurring the boundary between self and essence.

Divine Oversight[edit]

The Divine Parents regard the Teleka Plane with caution. Its existence does not violate the Rights of Divine Creation, but abuses of its essence often lead to intervention of Divine Judgment. Divines rarely forbid its use outright, but those who exploit it recklessly invite doom upon themselves and their offspring.

Cultural Interpretations[edit]

Different cultures within Galaxa describe the Teleka Plane in symbolic ways:

  • Rivers of blood coursing beneath the earth.
  • Oceans of light that souls swim through before birth.
  • Webs of pulsing veins connecting all living things.

While scholars debate its true form, all agree that the Teleka Plane is a fundamental but perilous stratum of reality.

Myths and Speculation[edit]

Legends claim that entire civilizations have drowned themselves in the Teleka by overreaching in their alchemy, vanishing from history overnight. Some myths speak of beings born wholly of Teleka essence, parasites that wait to feed on mortals who breach its flow. Whether these stories are cautionary tales or half-remembered truths, they remain etched into the collective fears of the Galaxa.
