Overview

Faith is a fundamental cosmic force that permeates the Continuum Universes, serving as the foundation of divine power, spiritual manifestation, and metaphysical existence. It is not merely a force—it is the embodiment of belief, formed from the deep, unwavering convictions of spirits and mortals alike.

Unlike other universal energies that obey fixed laws of physics or magic, Faith is shaped entirely by perception, conviction, and devotion. This means that, in sufficient concentration, Faith can manifest deities, alter reality, and even reshape existence itself. However, it is also highly volatile, as belief is constantly in flux.

Nature & Properties

Faith is not a tangible substance, nor is it a form of standard magic. Instead, it exists as a metaphysical force that is drawn from spiritual resonance. Its properties include:

  • Reality Manifestation – Faith can cause nonexistent beings, places, and forces to become real if enough belief is concentrated upon them.
  • Divine Empowerment – Many immortals rely on Faith to sustain their transformation into a Deity and enact their will.
  • Miracles and Curses – Faith can fuel miraculous acts, divine intervention, prophecy, and supernatural occurrences.
  • Afterlife & Spiritual Transference – When a spirit dies, its remaining Faith influences where it will transition within the Celestial Plane.
  • Faith Constructs – Structures, artifacts, and sacred relics may be created and empowered through ritualized belief.

Faith is not bound by magic systems such as Magicka, Astral, or Teleka. However, it can interact with them, often amplifying or distorting their effects.

The Creation of Faith-Powered Entities

One of the most profound effects of Faith is its ability to manifest sentient entities. These entities can be categorized into three types:

1. Faith-Powered Deities

  • When a collective belief in an entity reaches a critical threshold, that entity may spontaneously manifest.
  • Example: The Deity Silleta was born purely from the fear and belief of the Drekaerian people, as they convinced themselves of her existence.
  • These deities do not predate their worship—they exist because they are believed in.
  • A by Divine Law they cannot cease to exist after being created, if faith in them is lost. Rather they become a Spirits

2. Immortal Champions

  • Some beings—while not deities—gain extended life and supernatural abilities due to concentrated faith directed toward them.
  • Example: The Allarian God Emperor Zurthix is not an Immortal, yet his people's faith sustains his life and grants him miraculous abilities.
  • Unlike deities, these beings remain mortal at their core, though prolonged faith exposure may elevate them to higher forms of existence.
  • Mortals near death sustained by faith will eternal wither until either the faith sustaining them ceases or they turn to dust.

3. Manifested Spirits & Entities

  • Faith can create entirely new sentient beings if the belief is strong enough.
  • Example: Some societies have summoned "Guardian Spirits" who did not exist until they were imagined and worshipped. Hence why false worship is so dangerous in Galaxa

The Cycle of Faith & Decline

Faith is not an infinite source—it is directly linked to the conviction of those who believe. If belief fades, so too does the power it generates.

A Deity who loses their followers will experience three stages of decline: 1. Weakened Communion – Their ability to communicate with their followers is reduced. 2. Loss of Miraculous Power – Their ability to perform miracles, interventions, and blessings is diminished. 3. Reversion to Immortal State – If belief in a Deity fully vanishes, they revert to a simple immortal, stripped of divine power.

This means that deities must continuously maintain their worshippers or risk becoming forgotten echoes of the past.

Faith & Divine Law

Faith-Powered entities, despite their immense power, are bound by Universal Law (Galaxa):

  • No Direct ManifestationDeities cannot physically manifest in the mortal world. They may only influence reality through visions, dreams, and indirect intervention.
  • Faith Cannot Be Stolen – A Deity cannot forcibly take worshippers from another Deity—belief must be freely given.
  • Balance of Worship – If a Deity gains too much concentrated faith too quickly, it may lead to spiritual instability, distorting their form and purpose.

These laws ensure that Faith remains a dynamic force, preventing any one entity from becoming too dominant over the metaphysical order.

Faith-Based Civilizations

Some civilizations have built entire societies around Faith principles, integrating it into their governance, economy, and way of life. These include:

  • The Empire of Allaria – Where rulers are sustained by faith, and the Emperor is viewed as a divine figure.
  • The Shadowed Theocracy – A civilization that believes only faith-born deities should be worshipped, rejecting all Divine Parents.
  • The Church of Noxian – A dark sect that seeks to revive the Eldritch Horror Noxia by accumulating concentrated Faith.

Comparison to Other Cosmic Forces

Faith is unique in that it is not directly tied to a physical or magical system, but it does share some properties with other primordial forces:

Force Source Nature
Faith Belief & Worship Manifests deities, alters reality through conviction
Magicka (Galaxa) Aethereal Plane Elemental & mystical manipulation
Astral Energy Astral Plane Psionic & mental abilities
Teleka Teleka Plane Discipline-based cosmic force

Unlike these other energies, Faith is entirely perception-based, meaning its power is directly influenced by mortals rather than natural laws.

Conclusion

Faith is one of the most powerful and unpredictable forces in the Continuum Universes. It has the ability to shape deities, fuel civilizations, and rewrite reality, but it is also unstable, as belief is ever-changing.

As long as sentient beings hold convictions, Faith will remain a driving force in the universe.
