Overview

Divine Law is the fundamental, unbreakable set of laws governing the multiverse, created and discovered by the First Divine Parents. These laws regulate the responsibilities of Divines and dictate the rules of creation, judgment, and interdimensional interactions.

Unlike Universal Law, which varies between universes and applies to spirits, souls, and mortals, Divine Law is absolute and immutable, binding only to those who seek or have obtained divinity. Any being granted Divinity or the Rights of Divine Creation must adhere to these laws in full.

Origins of Divine Law

Divine Law was laid down an unfathomably long time ago by the First Divine Parents. However, not all aspects of Divine Law were created; rather, some were discovered, as they proved to be intrinsic to existence itself.

To be granted Divinity, a being must prove their commitment to Divine Law during judgment by their Divine Parents. Only those who have sworn absolute adherence may be uplifted.

Core Tenets of Divine Law

The following are the fundamental laws that all Divines must uphold:

  • Law of Creation – Nothing can be destroyed, only transformed.
  • Law of Free Will – All beings, including Universes, Spirits, and Souls, must have free will.
  • Law of the Binary – The creation of spirits and souls requires a male-female union.
  • Law of Judgment – Only those judged worthy may be uplifted into Divinity.
  • Law of TransformationSpirits and Souls may be uplifted, immortalized, or punished, but never erased.
  • Law of OrderMatter and Energy must never be destroyed, and Divines must never tamper with time.
  • Law of Life and Death – All spirits and souls must live and die at least once. The laws governing life and death within each universe must be strictly enforced.
  • Law of Non-Obstruction – Mortals must be allowed to make their own choices. Divines may only interact with them to guide and pass judgment. Immortals may not be interfered with unless another law dictates otherwise. Judgment may be passed an infinite number of times.
  • Law of Continuity – Spirits and souls created by Divines of direct descent from the First Divine Parents must be given the opportunity for judgment and, if deemed worthy, granted divinity.
  • Law of Interloping – For an Immortal to travel between universes in The Yonder Realm, they must first undergo judgment. If they are deemed worthy of divinity but have not yet reached their judgment day, they may be granted the status of Interloper. Immortals found within The Yonder Realm who have been judged and found unworthy of divinity are to be Damned or Shattered.
  • Law of Summoning – Mortals may only be summoned to other universes by Interlopers or Divines.

Enforcement of Divine Law

Divine Law is upheld through judgment, and once a being has been judged worthy of divinity, their Divine Parents become solely responsible for their actions. This judgment is final, just, and absolute.

  • Divines must be fully committed to Divine Law before ascending, ensuring that no Divine will ever violate it.
  • When the Convergence occurred, the Law of Non-Obstruction dictated that Immortals and Mortals would be responsible for mending The Contradiction and bringing the The Deviants before the Divines for judgment.
  • Divines self-regulate, ensuring that all who have ascended obey the Law completely.

Consequences of Violating Divine Law

  • Divines are incapable of breaking Divine Law, as their judgment was omniscient and absolute before their ascension.
  • Immortal|Immortals and Mortals who violate a core tenet of Divine Law, such as a spirit or soul disrupting the Law of Life and Death, may be subjected to punishment, including:

While Divines view the Law as final and perfect, many Immortal|Immortals believe it to be flawed, which is why they remain unworthy of divinity.

Divine Law and the Multiverse

Amendments to Divine Law

Though Divine Law is immutable, its interpretation has shifted in response to cosmic events such as the The Convergence.

Original vs. Revised Law of Non-Obstruction

Before the Convergence, the Law of Non-Obstruction stated: "Mortals are to be allowed to make their own choices and should only be interacted with to guide and pass judgment. Judgment may only be passed once. Immortal|Immortals cannot be interfered with."

After the Convergence, the law was revised: "Mortals are to be allowed to make their own choices and should only be interacted with to guide and pass judgment. Immortal|Immortals cannot be interfered with unless another law dictates otherwise. Judgment may be passed an infinite number of times."

The Creation of the Laws of Interloping and Summoning

Originally, Divine Law did not specify whether mortals or Immortal|Immortals could travel between universes. This changed when a second judgment was required for The Deviants, as the original Law of Non-Obstruction prevented intervention.

Two new laws were then established:

  • Law of Interloping – Governing how Immortals may travel between universes.
  • Law of Summoning – Restricting the summoning of mortals to only Interlopers and Divines.
