Overview

Continuum CCG features a vast collection of cards that represent various entities, artifacts, actions, and phenomena across the Continuum Universes. Cards are the fundamental elements of play and are categorized into distinct types, subtypes, and traits that define their properties.

Card Structure

Each card is defined by core attributes, including:

  • Name – The official designation of the card.
  • Type – The category the card belongs to (e.g., Unit, Hero, Titan, Action, Secret, Item, Effect, Quest, Location).
  • Traits – Special designations that define the card’s identity (e.g., Species, Class, Faction, Synergy, Universe).
  • Stats – The numerical values that determine the card’s inherent power and resilience (e.g., Strength, Health, Armor, Speed).
  • Energy & Resource Requirements – The resources or energies required to summon or activate the card (e.g., Mana, Faith, Grit, Aether, Sins).
  • Keywords & Abilities – Passive, triggered, and activated effects that modify the card’s behavior.

Card Types

Cards in Continuum CCG are divided into several major categories:

Units

Units are non-unique entities that can be played in multiples. They represent common soldiers, creatures, or spirits.

  • Example: Valorik Warrior, Malisik Swarmling

Heroes

Heroes are named entities that can only exist once on the board per player. These are significant characters in the Continuum Universes.

  • Example: Merik Teslek, Mèra Ilyànna

Titans

Titans are powerful entities that influence the game indirectly from their Titan Slot. They do not interact directly but exert abilities that affect the battlefield.

  • Example: The Voidfather, The First Divines

Items & Equipment

Items are objects that can be equipped, used, or activated.

  • Example: Celestial Blade of Rah, Malisik Flesh Armor

Actions

Actions are one-time use effect cards that alter the game state but do not remain on the board.

  • Example: Rift Collapse, Dark Resurrection

Secrets

Secrets enter play face-down, activating when their conditions are met.

  • Example: Divine Judgment, Malisik's Revenge

Effects

Effects persist on the board, altering gameplay conditions until removed.

  • Example: The Yonder Influence, Cosmic Drain

Quests & Events

Quests offer rewards for fulfilling conditions, while Events alter the battlefield.

  • Example: Convergence Crisis, The Eternal War

Locations

Locations modify the game environment and affect the battlefield in unique ways.

  • Example: The Lost City of Varketh, The Throne of the Divines

Traits & Characteristics

Cards have additional traits that further define their playstyle, interactions, and lore significance.

Species, Sub-Species, & Species Class

Each entity belongs to a species or subspecies, affecting how they interact.

  • Example: Valorik, Near-Human, Malisik

Gender or Pair

Each entity is assigned a Gender or in the case the card depicts two to three entities a pair assignment is received. Gender and Pair ultimately affecting mechanical synergy and card interactions.

Class & Role

Entities may have class designations that define combat style or mechanical synergy.

  • Example: Warrior, Sorcerer, Priest, Assassin

Factions & Alignments

Cards belong to factions or alignments, affecting their synergy and interactions.

  • Example: The Divine Order, The Deviants, The Malisik Horde

Energy & Resource Affinity

Cards are tied to specific resources or energies, influencing deck-building strategies.

  • Example: Mana, Faith, Grit, Aether
