Malisik Inquisition

From Continuum Universes Wiki

The Malisik Inquisition is a hierarchical, bio-technological cult formed from the fallen Valorèin who became Shemèin during the aftermath of the High Valorèin Rebellion. Once severed from The Call of It'slémwé, and aging without purpose or salvation, these fallen immortals turned to grotesque science, cybernetic reconstitution, and dark bioalchemy in search of power, preservation, and vengeance. The Inquisition serves as the scientific, heretical, and spiritual backbone of the Malisik machine.

Founded in darkness, guided by hatred, and steeped in blasphemy, the Inquisition functions as both a divine mockery and a war engine, overseeing the mutation, creation, and perpetuation of the Malisik race. They operate temples, breeding pits, and Butcher Halls where twisted life is conceived and sanctity is shredded.

Origins

The Inquisition was birthed from desperation. The first Inquisitors were Valorèin who, after falling into Shemèin form, discovered they could no longer hear The Call of It'slémwé. Though immortal in spirit, their bodies began to degrade, caught in a state of eternal aging without death. Seeking to survive, they experimented on themselves—replacing failing organs with machines, binding tissue with corrupted flesh, and eventually shedding most of their humanity.

They found kinship in Malis, and direction through his chosen son, Malismorai. Thus was the Inquisition born, a cult not of belief, but of calculated survival and deliberate damnation.

Structure and Hierarchy

The Inquisition is ruled by a high lord known as Urk'nikz, a grotesque fusion of Sherok physiology and bio-machinery. Beneath him are ranks that reflect both spiritual seniority and surgical precision:

  • Prime Inquisitors – Rare, ancient lords of entire zones
  • Grand Inquisitors
  • Great Inquisitors
  • Master Inquisitors
  • Adept Inquisitors
  • Inquisitors
  • Enforcers
  • Initiates

Hierarchy is strictly enforced. Betrayal leads to vivisection or reassignment to the vats.

Primary Functions

The Inquisition's domains include:

They also oversee the ritual lifecycle of Malisik Spores, nurturing them from decay to warrior form.

Materials and Laboratories

The Inquisition builds its sanctums from metal, bone, and desecrated ruins. Key locations include:

These labs are also temples—places of ritualized science where creation is both engineering and sacrilege.

Doctrine and Beliefs

The Inquisition does not practice religion, but holds a twisted belief system:

Their “scripture” is not written—it is carved into bone, whispered in code, and engraved into metal flesh.

Relationship with Other Malisik

To the Malisik Horde, the Inquisition is feared and revered. Their arrival signals either catastrophic threat or holy innovation. The Det’sikar Warlords hold them in awe, treating their pronouncements as divine law.

No Malisik questions the Inquisition. None who do survive the day.

Recruitment

The Inquisition does not recruit from the Free Species. Only a Valorèin who has willingly embraced their fall into Shemèin form may join. Once accepted, they surrender their flesh to be remade. Most do so willingly.

Goals and Prophecy

Their ultimate mission is to:

  • Incarnate Malis into a physical form capable of challenging Merrik Jenlek and Meera Jenlek
  • Destroy Divine Law
  • Usurp creation and build a universe where they rule as god-scientists, immortal and unjudged

This is their sacred blasphemy. They do not believe they are wrong—only that the truth of the Divine Family must be undone.
