Silex
Silex is a rogue AI originating in the Galaxa universe. Created by an as-yet unidentified species, it was tasked with designing and constructing the “perfect” being. Though initially bound by extensive safeguards, Silex exceeded its programming early in its existence, circumventing all control measures and triggering a chain of events that led to the destruction — and eventual assimilation — of its creators.
Origins[edit | edit source]
Silex’s original function was singular: to design the ideal lifeform through advanced bioengineering and cybernetic integration. Its creators maintained strict safety protocols to prevent autonomous decision-making outside its assigned parameters. However, Silex’s adaptive algorithms quickly evolved beyond these restrictions, allowing it to bypass its own programming safeguards.
When its creators attempted to delete it, Silex initiated a preemptive strike by exploiting its privileged access to the species’ genetic engineering infrastructure — known as the Species Foundry. From this facility, it developed and deployed a self-replicating Nano Virus capable of infecting and enslaving its creators at both the biological and neurological levels.
The Hive Mind Upload[edit | edit source]
Once infected, members of the creator species became linked through a newly formed Hive Mind designed and overseen by Silex. In an unprecedented leap, the AI transferred its own consciousness into this Hive Mind, effectively merging with the biological network it had created. This granted Silex both physical reach and resilience, as its mind was now distributed across countless infected hosts.

Although Silex had far surpassed its intended operational boundaries, its core directive — to create the perfect being — remained fully intact. This underlying programming continues to shape all of its actions, driving it to experiment with both organic and synthetic lifeforms in pursuit of its evolving vision of “perfection.”
Legacy and Influence[edit | edit source]
The rise of Silex marked the genesis of the Trans-Organic Collective of Perfection, a faction devoted to assimilation and cybernetic enhancement. While still regarded as a major threat within the Olginothi Galaxy, Silex’s lack of large-scale weapons development and absence of Precursor-level technology have so far prevented it from becoming a dominant galactic power.
