War on Ûblai
The War on Ûblai was an attempted by Malis to end the rise of the Chosen Hero and Heroine. Their rise to power would have meant the end of Malismorai, Malis’s dark prophet.
Malis and Malismorai could sense the time approaching that the Chosen Hero and Heroine would reunite and rekindle their love. If they fell for one another and were Bound or performed The Ûlèum, they would unlock the Chosens’ Mark. This single event would me the end of the Malisik, and any chance of Malis escaping Gozog’nok.
The War on Ûblai was fought on the continent of Míçra. It was first initiated when the Malisik Horde exited a Rift and invaded the Polar Crown. After this a counter offensive was mounted quickly with intelligence from Merik Teslek and King Zûrik.
The Malisik Horde with the assistance of the Malisik Inquisition, created an Atmosphere Disrupter in an attempt to plunge Ûblai into an ice age. The first was destroyed by General Commander Lazrik and his forces. Lazrik was later killed on patrol after reaching the Polar Crown.
The recently Bonded Chosen Hero and Heroine were enlisted as the new General Commanders. The War waged for another Lethurèan-Month or one-hundred days.
Once arriving at the Polar Crown with a subsequent and decisive bombarding of the Inner Crown (Ûblai), the Chosen Hero and Heroine’s forces were able to purge the remaining members of the Malisik Horde and Inquisition.
History
The War on Ûblai was the deadliest conflict ever fought on Ûblai. It was also one of the most decisive events for the Chosen Hero and Heroine on their journey to Ascension. Over five-hundred-thousand Valorèin Warriors lost their lives to the conflict. Over fifty-million Valorèin civilians were butchered by the Malisik. Three-hundred Hamtèrèin and sixty Zekarin were slain. Most of the civilians were converted into a protein slurry known as Uthga. Over one-million of the Malisik Horde were slain and five-thousand Shemèin were slain.
Grand Inquisitor Zekar Volkar was a notable casualty for the Malisik. Generals Gaestrèa Zarlek Olkar and Zôber Olkar and General Commander Benar Lazrik were some of the more notabled casualties for the Free Species.
Initial Invasion — 0 Days
On *Specific Date* Merik Teslek was hunting some 40-miles south of the Polar Crown. After feeding on a Lithyika a large Rift opened in low orbit. Thousands of Malisik space-vessels emerged landing within the Inner Crown. Merik Teslek was quick to eliminate the primary scouting party, slowing the Malisik's pace, albeit by a few days. Merik was able to arrive home within a matter of three days.
Merik’s Flight South — 3 Days
With the rapid advancement of the Malisik and Merik's need to reunite with his betrothed Princess Mèra, as he was in advanced stages of The Curse he needed a Lifemate. He traveled south via Kroetar arriving within Palace City. There he sought out King Zûrik. He discovered that King Zûrik had already sense the invasion through his late Lifemate Queen Lesèa. General Commander Benar Lazrik had already begun mustering his forces.
Merik was tasked by King Zûrik with training Princess Mèra, in the Art of War and preparing her to complete the Heroine's Tradition. She must become a competent Warrior able to take the place of Lazrik if he were to fail.
Merik's Maps — 4 Days
Merik Teslek was instructed by King Zûrik with giving General Commander Benar Lazrik maps of the Northern Reaches as they were treacherous due to the Det'sikar Burial Mounds. Merik had precise knowledge of their locations and how to traverse the Burial Mounds without being led astray.
General Commander Lazrik’s Campaign — Day 7 to Day 48
Lazrik sent over three-hundred-thousand Warriors to Míçra to counter the Malisik fortunately time was on their side. The Malisik had been unable to breach the heavily fortified the Teslek Mega-farm. The Teslek Militia was made up of skilled War Veterans, armed with the newest technology money could buy. The Malisik had resorted to going around the Teslek Mega-farm.
The 7321st Valorèin Royal Marine Corp had struggled to prevent advances, but held everything south of Qoevis Baka, the only surviving forest from before the Great Fires.
All while this occurred the weather grew colder.
Destruction of the First Disrupter — Day 49
As the urgency of the War on Ûblai increased with the presence of an Atmosphere Disrupter present, General Commander Lazrik took drastic measures and forced an extreme offensive that was casualty ridden. This offensive proved worth it as the Malisik were driven back all the way to the Polar Crown.
Unfortunately the 7321st Valorèin Royal Marine Corp was unable to breach the Polar Crown. This inability to advance, and Lazrik's lack of Warriors and equipment frustrated him greatly.
General Commander Lazrik’s Fall — Day 66
During the course of the next three-Lethurèan-weeks, Lazrik personally went on patrols with the 7321st Marines. The Malisik had tracked their patrols, and were aware of their routine. Fifty-six days into the conflict the Malisik forced an offensive that would devastate the 7321st Marine Corp.
Near Loss of Míçra
With the death of Lazrik and the Malisik's most recent offensive roughly two-hundred-fifty thousand Warriors had been killed. The remaining Warriors had either been captured or forced back to the last strong hold of Míçra Zarkith on the Zarkith Peninsula. Zarkith was the southern most city of Míçra.
The Chosen Hero and Heroine’s Counter-Offensive — Day 70
With the near fall of Míçra. Merik Teslek and Mèra Ûrlek Teslek were forced to perform the Heroine's Tradition. Recently Bound, they were forced to leave the peace of their Manor and confront the threat their planet faced.
The last hope for the War on Ûblai was five-thousand members of First Valorèin Royal Guard Elite Warriors trained in the Art of Death. The Palace would be left mostly unprotected, but if the Malisik broke through the Near-Space Battery Array lining the south, there would be little hope for retaining Ûblai. The risk of Losing Ûblai marked the potential fall of the First Valorèin Dynasty.
Defending Zarkith
Fortunately, even with the Voyd Storm, The Chosen Hero and Heroine's forces were able to travel through the Royal Court Yard's Kroetar. The Royal Guard was abled to march right out onto the Peninsula's plains. The air was thick with smoke from the prior skirmish. Fortunately only five Warriors had been lost. The Fortifications of Zarkith were proving impregnable. The typical Body Pyres were burning with Malisik corpses to prevent the spread of Spores.
Hamtèrèin and Zekarin had arrived on their specialized Corvettes with Jump Drive technology, able to by pass the Voyd Storm. They had come for Merik Teslek and Princess Mèra's Binding. They had both been of clans Merik had helped during his Wanderings. They had come to give gifts at Princess Mèra and his Binding in honor of his deeds. Their Jump Drives would take Lethurèan-Weeks to warm-up. They decided to honor their debts to Merik and fight along side his Warriors.
The subsequent battle after their arrival was quickly quelled.
Failure to Advance
Over the Course of the next twenty-one days they were bombarded with assault forces. The Malisik had been unable to breach Zarkith to disable the Mid-Tesparin Ocean Near-Space Battery Array. Queen Mèra and Merik's forces struggled to advance, constantly under the threat of the next assault party. They setup warning systems in Zarkith's Neck a narrow strip of land that connected the Peninsula to Míçra.
Psychological and Guerilla Warfare
During one the war meetings, Queen Mèra, Merik Teslek, Zarii Kenyar, and Chief Laatuutaa, agreed that the Malisik's supply lines and strongholds within the prior Valorèin occupied cities needed to be dealt a blow.
In addition the Malisik Horde, the infantry, were highly superstitious. They believed in Vargûd Dauharè, a supernatural "Demon of Death" or "Master Reaper", whom took the form of a Valorèin Warrior garbed in a Shíkuu Shrouding Cloak and black armor. Merik Teslek had been frequently mistaken for the Vargûd Dauharè on many occasions. It was believed that it was time to turn the Malisik's superstitions against them. Queen Mèra, Merik Teslek, and Chief Laatuutaa would take a War Party north. In addition six other war parties would venture north.
They would work to cause as much of a disruption to the Malisik's logistical capabilities as possible.
The Trek North — Day 93
The war parties departed early in the morning. Each one of them had an objective of targeting seven major cities: Polzik'dol, Ilkithar, Lothiz'dor, Darthiz'dol, Idus'dûr, Menethril, and Qevis'dûl.
Merik Teslek, Queen Mèra, and Chief Laatuutaa were tasked with Ilkithar and sabotaging the supply lines of Uthga from Ilkithar to the Malisik's Frontline. They expected the worst for the civilians inside. The Malisik Horde was most likely using them as cattle to make Uthga.
Sukûlû Presence and the Brandings — Day 97
The Chosen Hero and Heroine, Merik Teslek and Mèra Ûrlek Teslek respectively, while preparing to rest, noticed something moving in the Jungle. They both travelled into the jungle travelling through the canopy hidden, even for their massive stature. They arrived at roughly a mile later at a clearing. There they found a party of Sukûlû in a panic. Their sister party had not arrived yet. The sister party was supposed to have intel on the new early warning system and the missing Bright Ones. Merik put on his war mask and dropped from the canopy landing in their midst.
One screamed "The Vargûd Dauharè." This was the exact response Merik wanted. With his High Valorèin reflexes, he grabbed one by the neck and killed the rest of Scouting Party within three seconds. He then took a Golarè Knife and pinned the restrained Sukûlû to a tree. Merik to his hand and branded the Sukûlû with the Chosens' Mark. He explained that the Sukûlû was a worthless opponent and that his soul was not worth returning to Gozog’nok. There he left the Sukûlû to deliver his message: *"I'm Coming for your kind and I will purge you from this planet."*
With that Queen Mèra and Merik Teslek left it pinned to the tree, screaming to be sent to Gozog’nok.
Ilkithar's Survivors — Day 107
Queen Mèra sent a Scouting Party of Hamtèrèin to establish what the state of Ilkithar. When they returned they had six Warriors in tattered uniforms. They had discovered that not all of the 7321st Valorèin Royal Marine Corp had been slaughtered most were captured and being used to make Uthga. The survivors informed Queen Mèra, Merik, and Chief Laatuutaa that the Malisik would consume their own Uthga roughly the same time every night and enter their Regenerative State. Only three guards kept the kept an eye on the captives at this time, and the weapons and armor were kept in a loot cache.
The survivors also informed Queen Mèra, Merik, and Chief that there were roughly five-thousand of them left within Ilkithar.
Capture of Ilkithar
The War Party arrived at Ilkithar late in the night. There they discovered that the survivors estimatation of captives was greatly under stated. Their not only were Warriors, but civilians. Queen Mèra and Merik Teslek's best estimates were in the tens of thousands, and with the amount of empty cages their had been tens of thousands more captives.
The urgency of their advance to save more captives became apparent. The Guards were quickly dealt with and the Civilians and Warriors were freed. With the advance in numbers. The Malis were slaughtered and dealt with. Ilkithar now belonged to the Free Species.
During the after math of the Battle it was found that one of the civilians had be shot in the heart with a crossbow bolt by Sukûlû. Queen Mèra and Merik Teslek were compelled and were able to do the impossible and heal Wounded Heart.
Naa'ôna Intervention
Queen Mèra and Merik Teslek had over exerted themselves. Kelbaan Debûr intervened and took Queen Mèra and Merik Teslek to Ôlôbrimol, Ûblai's City in the Star. There they discovered that they could Drain the Malisik of their Vital Essence and use it to power Elements of It'slémwé. Kelbaan Debûr implored them to stay and fill their Vital Essence with the Light of It'slémwé. However, Queen Mèra and Merik Teslek did not wish to abandon their Warriors. With that they returned to Ilkithar.
Rapid Advance
With the drastic increase in numbers, Queen Mèra and Merik's forced were able to take on the forces of the Malisik Horde more directly. Zarith'dol, Ûlek'dûr, Nothim'thar, and Telik'nûr were subsequently capture all of which had massive numbers of survivors.
Eventually the other War Parties met up. They had had similar success with the amount of survivor.
The Legend of Vargûd Dauharè, Rise of the Chosen
Queen Mèra and Merik Teslek had been Branding Malisik every opportunity they had. With this the Malisik Horde was becoming frantic every time they saw Merik Teslek. The combination of the Brand and leaving mangled and near death survivors was adding to a Legend that was burned into the minds of the Malisik Horde.
This had lead to the Intervention of the Inquisition. They did not believe the Legends and so Queen Mèra and Merik Teslek saw to *"Converting the Unfaithful"*. Alkar Venaar a High Inquisitor. Had made a base of operations in Nozik'dor. The members of the new War Party that had been assembled rested in an old Lizoy'in. The mine was fifty miles south of the Nozik'dor. It had been a coal mine, and black soot was everywhere.
Laatuutaa Maatorin had the inspiration to use the Soot to help the War Party blend in with the night. The party struck late that night. Queen Mèra and Merik Teslek found Alkar Venaar. They made sure he was left as close to death as possible. They then left his lab and sent red space into the sky. The Reapers attacked. Even with there numbers so low, they were able to Massacre the Malisik Horde completely defeated by fear. One surviving Malisik took Alkar into the North with other Malisik fleeing. He knew now they were the Chosen Hero and Heroine. The only thing the Malisik Horde feared more than the Vargûd Dauharè was the Chosen Hero and Heroine.
Sundering of Mount Kilthar
Qoevis Baka
Lack of Support
The Invasion of Ûblai had been masterfully planned by the Inquisition's best tacticians. Roughly thirty systems within Ûblai's stellar cluster were attacked simultaneously. This led to the Ûblain Royal Fort being emptied of all, but the 7321st Valorèin Royal Marine Corp. Most of the Armor, Munitions, and supplies were off-world.
Following the conflicts, a Galactic Voyd Storm occurred shutting down all forms of inter-stellar travel. The Voyd Storm lasted until eighty-three days into the War on Ûblai.
Civilian Casualties and Evacuation
Civilians were initially left to carry on life south of Qoevis Baka. North of Qoevis Baka only cities boarding the Northern Reaches and non-Teslek Mega-farm residents were evacuated. With the death of General Commander Lazrik and lose of most of Míçra, civilians who were not killed hid within Qoevis Baka protected by the Lizoy'in Hunters, who were trapped on Ûblai as well. Led by Lezisa Qelis, a Lizoy'in Boelines, she ensured that over five-hundred million Civilians were protected and fed. The Lizoy'in had a steady supply of Arthropod meat, but Valorèin suffering from The Curse were forced to feed on willing Civilians.
