Queen Mîra Ûrlek Teslek is a central figure in The Chosen Trilogy, the sworn lifemate of Merik Teslek and eventual ruler of the First Valorîin Kingdom. A High Valorîin, she rose from the passionate, fiery-tempered daughter of royalty to a legendary figure remembered as the Chosen Heroine. Her unwavering love for Merik, even through trials of separation and doubt, reflects her resilience, strength, and the undying hope she embodies for her people. Mîra's pivotal role in uniting the Free Species against the Malisik Horde secured her place as one of the greatest leaders of her time.

Biography[edit | edit source]
Early Life and Conception[edit | edit source]
Mîra's journey began long before her birth, as her mother, Queen Lesîa, struggled for over three centuries to conceive. The Valorîin lifespan, while long, does not guarantee easy conception. With the large gaps between fertility cycles and Lesîa's inability to bear a child, Queen Lesîa had begun to think her line would end and the prophecy surrounding her lineage would die.
- The Role of Volina, the Court Alchemist: After decades of frustration and heartbreak, the Court Alchemist, Volîna, devised a solution. Drawing upon ancient Kwin'harin knowledge, Volîna prepared a potent fertility agent that utilized rare herbs and alchemical processes. This old remedy finally enabled Lesîa to conceive, and Mîra was born as the long-awaited heiress to the First Valorîin Kingdom.
Mîra's birth was celebrated across the kingdom, as her arrival marked a symbol of hope and continuity for the royal lineage. Mîra's birth was a moment of great celebration, as she was the long-awaited heiress of the thrones. From a young age, she was trained in both governance and diplomacy.
Childhood and Friendship with Merik Teslek[edit | edit source]
At just 1 Lethurîan year old, Mîra met Merik Teslek during a royal gathering, specifically meant to introduce them. Merik Teslek was the heir to second largest corporation in all of Lethurîa. The two immediately became inseparable friends, their bond deepening over the next two decades. By adulthood, their friendship had blossomed into a profound and enduring love.
- Transformation Through Training: Following the death of her mother, Mîra channeled her grief into rigorous training, refining her physical form and mental fortitude. Under royal tutelage, she mastered Tie Paa and the use of a Valorîin blade, becoming a warrior-princess worthy of her lineage.
Relationship with Merik Teslek[edit | edit source]
Mîra's bond with Merik Teslek is central to her story. Their love, built on a foundation of two decades of friendship, was tested by Merik's enlistment in the First Valorîin Royal Army, which separated them for over a decade.
- Merik's Departure: When Merik announced his enlistment, Mîra's fiery temper flared before giving way to sorrow and eventual acceptance. On the day of his departure, her passionate farewell nearly convinced him to stay.
- Hope Through Separation: Despite years apart, Mîra's passion for Merik endured. Although her love wavered as she struggled to reconcile the man she remembered with the warrior who returned, her hope never faded. Upon their reunion, she discovered a Merik who was softer, more compassionate, and greater than the man she had first loved.
The Death of Queen Lesîa[edit | edit source]
Mîra's entire world shattered in her twenties when her mother, Queen Lesîa, was attacked beyond the Royal Grounds. The entity left a festering black wound on Lesîa's arm. The corruption spread rapidly, twisting her flesh until her body could no longer endure it. After the untimely death of Queen Lesîa, Mîra inherited not only her mother's position as heir but also an artifact that would shape her destiny. The Dero'bôkar: A powerful, dream-based device allowing telepathic memory sharing. This artifact was instrumental in helping Mîra and Merik confront Merik past and heal from his trauma.
Her death changed everything:
- King Zûrik, once a pillar of strength, was reduced to a shadow of himself.
- Merik Teslek was away at war, leaving Mîra alone to carry her grief.
- The pressure to rule loomed over her, but she was not ready.
The Path of Self-Destruction & Enlightenment[edit | edit source]
Mîra, once fiery but focused personality, spiraled into self-destruction.
She sought escape through reckless behavior, wandering the city drunk and isolating herself from the court. Even as the news of Merik's war path worsened, she refused to grieve properly, choosing rage and numbness over healing.
Her reckless state horrified her family. Her grandparents, King Ig'nar and Queen Kîta, intervened, sending her off-world to a Kwin'harin healer, a woman known for spiritual rebirth rituals and healing.
The Kwin'harin Sanctuary was a place of rebirth and healing. Mîra arrived poisoned by alcohol and grief. They drew the poison from her skin, as Valorîin excrete waste from their skin. Once they had purged the poison, she was physically fine, but her soul was fractured.
The Elder Matriarch Naa'naetii knew that healing would require something drastic. She proposed a ritual of transcendence—a controlled near-death experience that would allow Mîra to enter the liminal space between life and the afterlife.
There was a risk she would not return.
Mîra agreed, not expecting to survive.
The ritual sent her spirit into the veil between planes, where she encountered:
- The spirit of Queen Lesîa, waiting beyond the threshold of eternity.
- A warning—"You must not touch me, my daughter. If you do, your father will perish and you will be left alone."
- A prophecy—Mîra and Merik were destined to stand against Malismorâ.
Mîra desperately wanted to embrace her mother but obeyed. Lesîa vanished into light, and Mîra was pulled back to her body.
She awoke reborn—not healed, but clear in purpose.
Forging Herself into a Warrior[edit | edit source]
Mîra returned from the Kwin'harin with newfound resolve. If she and Merik were to become the Chosen, she would be ready.
She dedicated herself to mastering the body and mind, training in:
- She mastered Tie Paa, an ancient combat discipline emphasizing precision, agility, and grace.
- She studied advanced swordplay under the kingdom's greatest warriors.
- She trained relentlessly, preparing herself for the day she and Merik Teslek would become the Chosen Hero and Heroine.
- Swordsmanship – She wielded a Holy Kledrad blade forged by Haulthen Miltharii, Malis Erodus, the twin Merik's weapon.
She pushed herself beyond her limits, preparing for the day Merik returned.
The Return of Merik & The Binding[edit | edit source]
She considered courting but her vow and unwavering love kept herself pure for Merik. She did not even hold another male's hand.
Merik finally returned from war, but he was changed.
The reunion was not simple—he was scarred, hardened, but undeniably hers. He had be desired by many females during his travels, but remained pure for her. He kept his vow and he did return. The years had forged them separately, but destiny would bind them once more.
Their Binding marked the culmination of their love and destiny, solidifying them as the Chosen Hero and Heroine. The ritual not only united their souls but also unlocked their true potential, allowing them to lead the Free Species against the Malisik Horde.
The Burden of Healing Merik[edit | edit source]
When Merik Teslek returned from war, he was not the man Mîra had once known. His spirit was wounded, his mind shattered by years of conflict. Mîra struggled to love the new Merik—he was colder, sharper, haunted by horrors she could barely comprehend.
For a long time, she clung to the memory of the Dûrka he had been, reluctant to accept the warrior he had become. But her mother's words echoed in her heart: "She must heal him." It was her duty, not just as his future lifemate, but as the one destined to stand beside him.
The Dero'bôkor & Seeing the Truth[edit | edit source]
Mîra delved into the Dero'bôkor, an ancient telepathic device that creates simulations in dreams, to witness Merik's past firsthand. Within its vast white void, she experienced his memories:
- His agonizing years at war, his near-death experiences.
- The moment he nearly took his own life—only for his locket, containing a Fragment of her and a lock of her hair, to stop the blade.
- His wanderings, where he had sought solace, learned from the Free Species, and earned titles of honor.
It was within the Dero'bôkor that she finally saw Merik's love for her, unwavering despite the passage of time. She understood then that he was not lost—only buried beneath pain.
Merik's Memory Transfer[edit | edit source]
One of the most defining moments in Mîra's relationship with Merik was their Memory Transfer, a powerful psionic exchange meant to accelerate her understanding of his teachings. Initially, it was intended as a practical shortcut, allowing her to absorb knowledge in mere hours rather than years. However, the moment their minds connected, Mîra realized it was far more than just an instructional tool—it was an intimate merging of their very souls. For the first time, she saw Merik completely unguarded, his emotions and memories laid bare. Though he tried to hold back his deepest thoughts, she felt the weight of his pain, his fears, and the love he had buried so deeply even he feared to acknowledge it.
The connection between them became a temporary Soul-Tether, something neither had anticipated nor fully understood. Though not the permanent bond of Lifemates, the experience left a mark on both of them, forging a link that went beyond mere knowledge. Mîra, despite her initial eagerness to learn, soon found herself overwhelmed by the sheer intensity of what Merik had endured. Yet, rather than pulling away, she embraced it, embraced him, determined to carry part of his burden. By the time the transfer ended, they were forever changed, the distance between them irrevocably closed. And though Merik still feared the future, still hesitated to make promises he wasn't sure he could keep, Mîra knew one thing for certain—she would never let him bear his burdens alone again.
The Vulgromiis & Breaking Tradition[edit | edit source]
Mîra was turned to the Vulgromiis by her grandmother and grandfather, a rare plant capable of suppressing The Curse. Consuming it came at a price—it was vile beyond words, causing intense nausea, paranoia, and delirium.
During this time, Mîra boldly rejected taboos surrounding courtship and physical affection, embracing her love for Merik even before their binding. Traditional Valorîin Courtship forbade physical contact before bonding. Yet, as she and Merik grew closer, she began to challenge this restraint. The first time they truly touched, the air between them cracked with tension—their ancestors would have been frothing at the transgression. It was also Merik and her belief, that somehow, their ancestors were celebrating—the thirteen-Lethurîan-years apart saving themselves for one another.
Defying Tradition: Mîra boldly rejected taboos surrounding courtship and physical affection, embracing her love for Merik even before their binding. Her courage and passion set her apart as a trailblazer unafraid to challenge convention.
Despite this, she remained pure for Merik, waiting until their The Binding to fully claim their connection. She desperately wished to perform The Ûlîum, but she respected Merik wish to follow tradition.
Love, Acceptance, and Destiny[edit | edit source]
Over time, Mîra came to love this new Merik, not just the memory of him. He was different, yes—but he was still hers. Through patience, devotion, and the Dero'bôkor, she helped mend his fractured soul.
The Binding and Rise of the Chosen Heroine[edit | edit source]
Mîra and Merik's destinies intertwined through their Binding, a sacred act that telepathically merged their minds and unlocked their full potential. In this transformative moment, they became the Chosen Hero and Heroine, symbols of unity and hope for the Free Species.
Mîra as General Commander[edit | edit source]
Mîra and Merik jointly led the First Valorîin Kingdom's counteroffensive against the Malisik Horde. Their strategic minds and natural combat prowess made them legendary figures among the Free Species. Under their command, the allied forces recaptured several key locations, including the Northern Territories and parts of Qoev'baka.
Guerrilla Warfare & the Northern Liberation[edit | edit source]
Mîra personally led an elite strike team into enemy-occupied territory, where she employed guerrilla warfare tactics to take back the Northern Regions. She and her forces operated deep behind enemy lines, utilizing the terrain to their advantage, striking at supply lines, and eliminating key Malisik officers.
- Sabotage Missions: Mîra orchestrated ambushes and precision strikes against Malisik strongholds.
- Environmental Warfare: She used the terrain's instability to create rockfalls and trap enemy forces.
- Malisik Psychological Warfare: Mîra's presence in enemy territory instilled fear, forcing the Malisik to divert resources.
The Collapse of Mount Kilthar[edit | edit source]
During the Battle of Yalvathril, Mîra and Merik realized they could collapse Mount Kilthar onto the Malisik forces using their extrasensory geological perception.
They found a deep fissure and forced it to expand, creating a massive earthquake. The mountain imploded, sending a dust cloud into the sky and crushing thousands of Malisik. Their own forces were left in awe and terror, as they witnessed the sheer power of their leaders.
Thousands of warriors knelt before them, mistaking their might for divinity—a moment that deeply disturbed Mîra.
The Dark of Qoev'baka[edit | edit source]
The War on Ûvlâ reached a dead halt as they arrived a Qoev'baka. The Malisik Inquisition had created an Near-Space Battery Array, north of Qoev'baka. With Merik's brutal Mind probing of an Ok'tlugarg lieutenant, she discovered the extent of the array that was keeping them from surveying with drones and moving north.
Mîra and Merik's next major mission involved infiltrating Qoev'baka, a dense, dark, and deadly jungle, to sabotage the Malisik Inquisition's Aerial Battery Array. With Merik's intimate knowledge of the terrain, she and Merik Teslek led a strike team through the depths. They traverse the near constant dark for over a Lethurîan-Month.
- The Three Power Stations: Mîra discovered that the entire array was powered by three central power stations.
- Dangerous Infiltration: Mîra and Merik led a stealth operation into enemy-occupied fortresses, killing nearly a hundred Malisik silently.
- Massive Explosion: Mîra and Merik detonated the power stations, crippling the Malisik's ability to control Ûvlâ's airspace.
End of the War on Ûvlâ and Death of King Zûrik[edit | edit source]
After the successful final battle against the Malisik Horde inside the Polar Crown, Mîra and Merik discovered the Sacred Circle on Ûvlâ. Here they communed with Kelbân Debûr the Nâ'ôna whom had bestowed upon them the Element of Life and Earth. He instilled in them the knowledge of the The Chosen's Quest. They were to perform multiple pilgrimages across Yedistren to gain all of the Elements of It'slâmwâ. This was their next task. Kelbân Debûr also explained that ultimately the Prophecy that had been made by the Ancient Hero and Heroine, was to bring about the destruction of the Malismorâ. After imparting this knowledge Kelbân ascended and Mîra and Merik were left with returning home.
When they arrived at their Manor they discovered Valorîin Royal Guards outside. They entered an found Queen Kîta, King Ig'nar, and King Zûrik. King Zûrik lay in a hospital bed. He was nearing his Trascendance, Queen Lesîa was calling him to It'slâmwâ. He gave Mîra and Merik a book he had written called Legacy of the Chosen, it had been written in cooperation with Nâ'ôna and was to guide them on the Chosen's Quest. King Zûrik also prophesied of Merik Teslek death at the hands of the Malismorâ. With this he Trascended.
Ascension to Deityhood[edit | edit source]
Mîra and Merik after the end of the War on Ûvlâ, began to study in their Library within their manor, their they discovered that King Zûrik's life's work was within possibly his life after Queen Lesîa passed. There were thousands of translated works by King Zûrik and billions of books, within the Data Orb given to them by King Zûrik at their Binding.
Within six Lethurîan Months or roughly two Tîran Years they decided to head out on The Chosen's Quest. They traveled to Durge'ha, Tokrau, Hromdûr, Wâtzar, Bolendûr, and Aldmendel. After retrieving the last of the Elements of It'slâmwâ they were transformed and ascended to Deityhood.
Merik's Death and Mîra's Grief[edit | edit source]
Mîra experienced one of the most profound losses of her life when Merik was slain in battle against Malismorâ. She witnessed in horror as Malismorâ drove his blade through Merik's chest, leaving him to bleed out in her arms. Full of unrelenting rage and sorrow, Mîra retaliated, wielding Malis Íkodus and Malis Erodus to behead The Malismorâ.
Grief consumed her. She tried to heal him for over an hour, reciting every incantation she knew, not even the Element of Life healed him. His body did not respond. She wailed over his lifeless form for hours, unable to process that he was truly gone. Her pain was so deep that she took her Ûk, a sacred blade, and prepared to end her own life, believing she could not live in a world without her Merik.
Before she could deliver the fatal blow his presence beyond the veil spoke, as if he were calling out to her. The golden glow of the afterlife flickered around her, and she heard her mother and Merik's voices speaking to her from beyond. She reached out, but before she could cross over, something called her back to the world of the living. Sherok appeared and retrieved Merik's body.
Merik's soul did not leave her entirely. Their Soul-Tether remained intact, its golden strands lingering between them. She felt him, sensed his thoughts, and saw him through her dreams and visions, she knew he was not gone forever.
Resurrection of Merik[edit | edit source]
Against all odds, Merik was restored to life. The First-Flames, by the will of the Mother and Father, intervened. After she was well recovered, she was visited by Friends and Family who were acting suspicious.
“Unfortunately Mîra the Sherok were not able to save everyone.”“But they did save the best of us!”
He emerged clad in white, bearing the scars of his death but alive once more. When she saw him, she touched his face in disbelief before she collapsed into his arms, overwhelmed by the disbelief.
Their love had defied death itself, and when their eyes met, their bodies shook—their bond had transcended beyond life and death. He whispered to her that she had been his anchor, his reason to fight against the Call. His spirit had remained with her until the First-Flames restored his body.
