This crystalline substance is deeply woven into the fabric of galactic society, serving as a bridge between spirituality, psionics, and narcotics. Spice is known to induce vivid hallucinogenic and spiritual experiences, unlocking latent mental and psionic abilities in some species, while causing disorienting or even fatal effects in others.

Each species—and even each individual—experiences Spice uniquely. Some describe divine visions of gods or ancestors, while others endure symbolic dreams tied to their biology or past. Its unpredictable nature has led to its reverence and fear, becoming both a sacred substance and a dangerous vice across Galaxa.

Origins and Formation

Spice is believed to have formed during the early history of Galaxa when dying stars collided, forging rare stellar minerals and compounds. Over time, these minerals settled into dead systems, forming entire asteroids and even planets composed of solid Spice. The most coveted form, known as Star Dust, is found on planets with dense argon-nitrogen atmospheres, devoid of oxygen. These toxic worlds require automated droids or enslaved laborers to harvest the volatile mineral.

Varieties of Spice

Spice exists in several forms, each varying in potency, purity, and value:

• Star Dust: The most potent and expensive form of Spice. Fine, shimmering powder capable of unlocking powerful psionic abilities or causing profound spiritual visions. Highly refined and extremely dangerous.
• Spice Nuggets: The least refined and most common form. Contaminated with silica, calcium, and other minerals, Nuggets are coarsely mined and often sold on the black market.
• Starstix: The most wide used form of spice. It has a hard crunchy, sometimes nutty center with a thin coating of spice, and a sugary glaze. They are the safest way to consume spice. Often authorities will look the other way with Starstix consumption. That is not to say they will allow the manufacturing of it.
• Raw Spice Ore: Unprocessed chunks extracted directly from Spice-rich planets and asteroids, requiring refinement to be consumable.

• Distribution: Spice is trafficked by criminal cartels, black markets, and corrupt governments, fueling both war economies and religious cults.

Overdose and Mutation

Spice is as deadly as it is powerful:

• Overdose Risks: Leads to permanent psychosis, coma, or death.
• Spice Zombies: Rare overdoses result in feral, mindless beings driven by an insatiable hunger for more Spice. These creatures are violent, predatory, and difficult to kill.

• Logastik Alibaster: The oldest known Spice user, aged over 100,000 years. His extinct species' natural resilience to aging allowed him to survive in a Spice-saturated environment, but at the cost of his physical form. His homeworld is permanently shrouded in Spice-laden haze.
