Purpose

The Location template provides a standardized infobox for any location within the Continuum Universes setting — including planets, cities, districts, regions, and stations. It replaces multiple narrow templates with one flexible, universal format compatible with both real and in-universe locations.

Usage

Place the template at the top of an article about a location.

Parameters

Classification

title: Name of the location. Alternate alias: name.
image: Primary image file (e.g. map, cityscape, or concept art).
imagecaption: Caption describing the image.
map: Optional secondary image, such as a regional or planetary map.
mapcaption: Caption describing the map.
universe: The universe or continuity where the location exists (e.g. Galaxa, Aerenda).
region: The region or sector containing the location.
planet: Planet on which the location is situated.
system: Star system, if applicable.
galaxy: The galaxy in which the location resides.
location: A smaller in-world coordinate (district, building, etc.).
type: Classification of the location (e.g. city, planet, base, district).
affiliation: Political or organizational control.
status: Current operational state (e.g. Active, Abandoned, Destroyed).

Details

function: Primary purpose or use of the location.
features: Key structural or cultural features.
economy: Description of local industries or economic relevance.
government: Ruling power or administrative body.
population: Estimated inhabitants.
founded: Founding year or era.
founder: Individual or group credited with creation or establishment.

Relationships

notable_residents: Significant people associated with the location.
notable_events: Important historical events occurring there.
notable_worlds: Other related planets or systems.
inhabitants: Primary species or population groups.
affiliated_groups / affiliated_group2 / affiliated_group3: Related organizations, guilds, or factions.

If used in the **main namespace**, the template automatically adds the page to '.
Missing parameters are simply omitted from the infobox — no errors or empty fields.
It supports both real-world and fictional contexts with the same structure.
