Dark-skinned Dakmonian and pale-skinned Laymonian populations formed rigid caste lines, driven by the recessive–dominant pigment allele divide and reinforced by cultural obsession after encounters with pale-skinned Nordite humans.

When genetic technology reached its apex, Yalaerin biotechnicians initiated the Regenesis—the total demolition and reconstruction of the Yalaerin genome. The goal was not merely to erase genetic conflict, but to create:
