The High Yalaerin are the genetically redesigned apex lineage of the Yalaerin species, created during the empire-shaping Regenesis. Engineered to resolve millennia of genetic tension between the Dakmonian and Laymonian lines, the High Yalaerin were constructed as the “unified ideal,” combining heightened Magicka aptitude, aesthetic uniformity, and stable reproductive compatibility. Following their emergence, they rapidly ascended to cultural, political, and ideological control of Yalaerin civilization.
Origins and the Regenesis
Yalaerin society fractured over centuries due to extreme reproductive stratification. Dark-skinned Dakmonian and pale-skinned Laymonian populations formed rigid caste lines, driven by the recessive–dominant pigment allele divide and reinforced by cultural obsession after encounters with pale-skinned Nordite humans.
When genetic technology reached its apex, Yalaerin biotechnicians initiated the Regenesis—the total demolition and reconstruction of the Yalaerin genome. The goal was not merely to erase genetic conflict, but to create:
- a stable phenotype
- enhanced Magicka capability
- a universally “desirable” aesthetic
- reformed reproductive anatomy
- a caste biologically suited to rule
The result was the High Yalaerin: engineered, curated, and positioned as the final evolutionary chapter of their species.

High Yalaerin physiology represents a purposeful reimagining of Yalaerin biology. Every organ system was examined, altered, or rebuilt for efficiency and long-term stability.
Engineered Sexual Dimorphism
The Regenesis amplified sexual dimorphism in a highly controlled manner:
- Females were engineered with **permanently full breasts**, a constant mammary state independent of pregnancy or lactation.

Post-Regenesis Ascendancy
With the old racial dichotomy rendered obsolete, High Yalaerin were elevated as the rulers of the Yalaerin Empire. Cultural narratives, religious symbolism, and historical rewriting framed them as:

They assumed leadership over:

- imperial governance
- reproductive registries
- military psionic orders
The prior dominance of Laymonian aesthetics evolved into High Yalaerin supremacy—more refined, more stable, and more controlled.
Control of Reproduction
Although official breeding programs were abolished after the Regenesis, High Yalaerin carry forward the tradition in subtler forms:

- casted pairing traditions
- pressure against inter-lineage reproduction
This ensures that the High Yalaerin phenotype remains dominant and unchallenged.
Relations with Other Yalaerin
With Laymonian
High Yalaerin view Laymonian ancestry as biologically incomplete but aesthetically valuable. Laymonian traits were used extensively in crafting High Yalaerin pale-toned phenotypes.
With Dakmonian
Dakmonian ancestry is officially regarded as “unrefined.” Despite Dakmonians contributing neural and Magicka strengths, High Yalaerin ideology minimized and vilified these roots.
The most forbidden union is High Yalaerin + Dakmonian, producing the outlawed:
Hybrids and the Nokayalae
High Yalaerin outside the empire often form interspecies relationships—including with Lekaran, Nordite, and Telerian populations due to cultural relaxation and political independence.
Their offspring are known as:
- Neo Yalaerin — neutral terminology
- Nokayalae — slur meaning “Not of Yalae”
Within the empire, hybrids are unwelcome, monitored, or exiled. Nokadakmonians, specifically, are executed on sight.
High Yalaerin Outside the Empire
Diaspora High Yalaerin reject the rigid purity doctrines of the empire, embracing:
- interspecies family structures
- Magicka cooperation with non-Yalaerin orders
- more egalitarian social traditions
- interlineage tolerance and cultural merging
These offworld High Yalaerin are often viewed as “wayward” by imperial authorities but as visionary by external civilizations.
Magicka and Technology
The High Yalaerin focus overwhelmingly on Magicka mastery to the neglect of standard technology. Their military and civil equipment relies on:

Though traditional weaponry remains unimpressive, their Magicka capacity compensates decisively.
