Deity (Lethurîa)

From Continuum Universes Wiki

Deity (Lethurîa) refers to ascended mortals who have achieved complete mastery over the Elements of It'slâmwâ, metaphysical fragments of divine power governing Lethurîa's reality. Unlike Galaxan deities who derive power from faith, Lethurîan deities channel elemental forces directly, enabling cosmic-scale reality manipulation while retaining mortal vulnerabilities.

Characteristics and Nature

Lethurîan deities wield the Element of Life and other divine elements to perform miracles like "making one whole" (restoring limbs, healing organs, and curing sensory impairments). They possess perpetual vitality—never tiring or succumbing to disease—but remain killable through physical means. Their existence depends on the Perfected Mortal Vessel, a mortal body enhanced through elemental mastery rather than an immortal form.

The Deities retain their mortal appearance, however, their Mortal Vessels have been perfected by the Elements of It'slâmwâ. These Perfect Vessels are exclusive to Lethurîan Deities. Lesser Deity (Galaxa) do not possess Perfect Mortal Vessels. They are enhanced with exponential endurance and enhanced reaction speeds, but lack the immunity to all Poisons and Elemental Diseases.

Ascension Process

The path to deityhood requires completing specific pilgrimages that prove elemental mastery or gifting of all the Elements by a Nâ'ôna in a City in a Star at behest of the Motherand Father:

Mortals start by completing one pilgrimage where they are received into a Sacred Circle. It is common practice as a pilgrim to push against the pillar of light to see if the Circle accepts them. It is not considered a dishonor to not be accepted as only select individuals are Chosen regardless of righteousness.

Completing multi-world pilgrimages to Sacred Circles to accumulate all Elements of It'slâmwâ has only been achieved by Merik Teslek and Mîra Ûrlek Teslek. They completed the full pilgrimage quest across multiple worlds as part of their ascension as the Chosen Hero and Heroine. Merek Tetorak and Maira Kûlaron Tetorak were anointed as deities in the Cities in the Stars specifically for their mission to conquer The Malismorâ and liberate Yedistren. Unlike Divine beings who are primordial architects of reality, Lethurîan deities are mortals and not wholly ascended as Divines.

Comparison to Other Continuum Deities

The Lethurîan model differs fundamentally from other Continuum frameworks:

  • Galaxan deities rely on mortal faith and fade without worship.
  • Aerendan deities are primordial void entities unbound by elemental structures
  • Lethurîan deities represent a middle path—mortal-originated but sustained by cosmic elements rather than belief
  • This makes them resilient during religious upheavals but vulnerable to being slain. The absence of Immortal Vessel creates unique limitations compared to deities in other universes
