Seliotype
The Seliotype is a biological-metaphysical genetic structure unique to species within the Volamin (Genetic Architecture). Comparable to DNA or chromosomes in sexually reproducing lifeforms, seliotypes are far more complex and spiritually bound. Each Volamin individual possesses exactly sixteen seliotypes, each composed of four sub-units called [[Seliquad}Seliquads]].
Unlike Terran meiosis where chromosomes are halved, Volamin reproduction involves each parent contributing two seliquads per seliotype, resulting in a precisely interlaced genetic sequence guided by metaphysical compatibility.
Structure and Inheritance[edit | edit source]
Each seliotype contains:
- Four Seliquads (¼ fragments)
- A unique Selinecto – a metaphysical binding signature determining which seliquads are compatible
During reproduction:
- Each parent fragments all sixteen seliotypes into seliquads
- Two seliquads per seliotype are passed on (½ contribution per parent)
- Only seliquads with matching selinecto signatures can recombine
This system allows for precise but flexible inheritance, enabling complex traits such as:
- Dual eye colors, Tri-color hair, and patterned skin
- Quarter-blood hybrids (e.g., ¼ Kwin'harin, ¾ Valorîin)
- Rare expressions when recessive seliquads are matched
Binding and Trait Expression[edit | edit source]
Each seliquad has:
- A dominant end and a recessive end
- A selinecto signature that defines its compatibility
Trait emergence (e.g. eye color, muscle structure, horn growth) depends on:
- Which seliquads are bound
- Whether dominant traits override or merge with recessive traits
- Which selitypes are expressed in high-density organs (e.g., dermis, iris)
Species of the Volamin lineage maintain not only biological continuity but often spiritual harmonics through seliotype inheritance, influencing behavior, emotion, and even ancestral memory in rare cases.
Volamin Hybridization[edit | edit source]
Volamin species can produce viable hybrids—but only under strict biological and ancestral conditions.
Lineage Constraint[edit | edit source]
Hybridization is possible **only** among members of **non-pure bloodlines**. These are individuals whose ancestry already contains **mixed seliotypes**, allowing their Seliquads to bind across compatible species via shared or resonant Selinecto signatures.
- Pureblooded Volamin**—those whose full sixteen seliotypes originate from a single lineage—cannot interbreed with other species. Their seliquads will **fail to bind** to incompatible selinectos, often resulting in reproductive failure or sterile offspring.
Quartered Lineage Examples[edit | edit source]
Viable hybrid expressions include:
- ½ Modern Valorîin, ½ High Valorîin — sometimes called "Old Valorîin"
- ¼ Kwin'harin, ¼ Modern Valorîin, ½ High Valorîin
- ¾ Tîran, ¼ High Valorîin — rare, but stable
These combinations permit complex inheritance patterns, such as layered traits, emergent memories, and intricate physical expressions.
