Nitrogen Dioxide
Overview
Nitrogen Dioxide is a key reactive component of oxidized atmospheres and a marker of combustion or decay. In the Continuum, it defines the boundary between life and entropy — appearing where air begins to remember fire. Its rust-brown hue makes skies bleed before the storm.
Properties
NO₂ participates in the nitrogen cycle, forming Nitric Acid when hydrated. In high psionic flux, its molecules self-align magnetically, creating “memory clouds” that replay lightning events.
Notes
- Contributes to the orange-hazed stratospheres of Methal-Nitric worlds.
- Corrosive to divine metals and synthetic lungs alike.
