Elder Valorèin

From Continuum Universes Wiki

The Elder Valorèin are an ancestoral species all Valorèin Species. Their hands are stained by the Blood of the Sherok. They rebelled against them and tried to commit genocide after being oppressed for an era and beguiled by Malismorâ. No true Elder Valorèin remain. All that is left of their legacy is their descendants.

Biology

The Elder Valorèin are among the most physically imposing Humanoid species in Lethurèa, designed by the First-Flames as the original guardians of Yedistren. Their imposing physiques and suite of enhancements prepared them for threats such as the Sebuuk or any greater menace to their world.

  • Psionic Abilities:
    • Telekinesis – limited to moderate weights or fine manipulation.
    • Empathic sensing and sharing of emotional states.
    • Psychic persuasion and influence.
    • Creation of illusions and mind-over-matter feats, in rare individuals.

History & Culture

The Rebellion Against the Sherok

The Elder Valorèin originally served as honored warriors and scholars under the Sherok, their celestial overlords. However, tensions rose with their lack of freedom and Morai's offer of Freedom under his rule. They eventually led a rebellion that resulted in the extermination of trillions of Sherok.

In retaliation, the surviving Sherok placed The Curse upon them, forever altering their biology. The Malisik and Morai now Malismorâ then enslaved the surviving Elder Valorèin before they later regained their freedom.

The Lifemate Tradition

Unlike their descendant the Valorèin, The Ûlèum was widely practiced after receiving the blessing of both mates parents.

Due to Lifemates psionic bonds, Elder Valorèin Lifemates rarely wander far from one another. Lifemates remain connected beyond death:

If one mate dies, the other cannot leave the planet where their partner perished without both souls Transcending. The Soul-Tether ensures lifelong loyalty and strengthens their mental stability.

Reproduction

Unlike most species, the Elder Valorèin—and other members of the Valorik Species Family—possessed extremely short fertility cycles. An Elder Valorèin could reproduce for only five days, every five to ten Lethurèan Years (or every thirteen to twenty-seven Terran Years). This infrequency, combined with their long lifespans and low numbers, made each new birth a momentous event in their society.

Elder Valorèin reproduce like most Mammaloids, through vaginal-penile sexual intercourse. They are strictly monogamous, with each individual having only one sexual partner—known as their Lifemate—for their entire life. Elder Valorèin reach sexual maturity at sixteen Lethurèan Years Old, though Zelka, do not become fertile until 500 Lethurèan Years Old (or 1,388 Terran Years Old).

Culture

Family

Elder Valorèin are deeply spiritual, holding strong beliefs. Many of their beliefs are forged from the trials they have faced as species. They are Elderly social and deeply family oriented. Families often live in massive Multigeneration Complexes where over twenty generations live.

Parenthood

Parenthood is a sacred duty among the Elder Valorèin and is never taken lightly. Upon reaching fertility, both males and females are traditionally given the most potent aphrodisiacs known in Lethurèa to ensure conception and continuation of the lineage.

Sexuality & Lifemating

Sexual intercourse is deeply sacred, as a single act can lead to completion of the Ûlèum, binding two partners together for eternity as Lifemates. The Elder Valorèin regard this act with profound reverence; those who enter into intimacy without true compatibility may face The Yûkoth, a grueling ritual for unmaking ill-fated lifemates.

Sex is considered the most intimate act an Elder Valorèin can experience. They possess highly sensitive erogenous zones known as the Ûlum, including the loins, buttocks, ears, nape, and Breasts. Touching these zones can be extremely arousing, and the intensity of the lifemating bond means that lifemates often climax together—sometimes to the point of passing out.

Nudity

Nudity is viewed as divine and pure. Unlike many non-Valorik Species, who may see nudity as distasteful or sinful, Elder Valorèin embrace it as the natural, sacred state of being. Classical Valorik art frequently depicts the Mother and Father nude or semi-nude; modern art portrays them in white robes exposing the right breast, back, buttocks, and legs (for the Mother), or in similar fashion (for the Father). Religious texts describe both divinities ministering to spirit children while nude, reinforcing the idea of nudity as the purest form.

At the age of eighteen Lethurèan Years (or forty-eight Terran Years), Zelka are permitted to wear the traditional Lômela Dress. This sacred garment is crocheted with intricate symbols from white string, featuring many windows to allow the body to be seen. It is taboo to wear undergarments beneath a Lômela Dress.

Innovations

  • Earliest Valorèin art styles, now revered as “classical” in descendant cultures
  • Origin of open-hand and weapon martial arts traditions, including unarmored combat (now rare) and the development of the Ûk and Kledrad swords

Legacy

  • Those bearing the rare “High Valorèin trait” (height, strong telepathy) are especially revered as living connections to Elder Valorèin lineage
  • Merik Teslek and Mêra Ûrlek Teslek are the only known individuals to trace their ancestry directly to the Ancient Hero and Heroine of the Elder Valorèin era
  • Modern Valorèin view their ancestors as vastly superior in power and wisdom, but also as a cautionary tale of pride and rebellion

Trivia

  • The Elder Valorèin believed temple rituals were essential for spiritual communion—a tradition lost and now seen as obsolete
  • Some believe that restoring the Gene Codex could bring about a “second dawn” of the Elder Valorèin
  • Size and telepathy are the strongest markers of ancient blood
  • The Elder Valorèin’s preference for nude combat inspired the aesthetic of “classical” Valorèin statuary
