Hybridization among Volamin (Genetic Architecture) species is only viable when the individuals involved possess line-blended ancestry. Unlike Terran-style crossbreeding, which depends on chromosomal compatibility, Volamin hybridization requires the alignment of metaphysical structures—specifically Seliquads with compatible Selinectos.

Eligibility

  • Pureblood Species: Cannot hybridize outside their lineage. Their seliquads reject all foreign selinectos.
  • Line-blended Individuals: May possess bridge selinectos, enabling cross-species fertility within the Volamin group.
  • Quarterbloods: Offspring with complex ancestry (e.g. ¼ Tîran, ¾ High Valorîin) are common in interwoven bloodlines.

Effects on Trait Expression

Hybridization can result in:

  • Mixed or layered traits (e.g. dual-colored eyes, tri-tone hair)
  • Compound Dermachrome patterns like mottling or freckling
  • Variable psychic or ancestral traits—not always predictable

Cultural Implications

Some Volamin cultures:

  • Celebrate quartered hybrids as bridges between clans or castes
  • Outlaw or stigmatize hybridization, especially in noble houses
  • Use selinecto testing in courtship, inheritance claims, or spiritual rites
