Malis
Malis, once known as Elidrè’el, is the first and greatest of the Elesèa Tribe to rebel against the Mother and Father. Originally a spirit chosen for great knowledge, he became corrupted by his pride and desire to force divine equality upon all. His fall led to the creation of Evil, the corruption of countless spirits, and the eternal conflict against the Free Species and Divine Law.
Origins and Rebellion
Elidrè’el spent eons within the Hall of Infinite Knowledge and came to believe that the Mother and Father were withholding divinity from their children. He became obsessed with the forbidden Book of Evil, which he read in secret. Though the knowledge did not inherently corrupt him, his perception of injustice and desire for power warped his soul.
He declared that all spirits deserved equal divinity and would see to it himself. The Mother warned him of the consequences. When the Mortal Plane was being prepared, Elidrè’el seized the Book and rallied thousands of spirits to his side. A celestial war ensued. Lethurèa himself intervened and cast Elidrè’el and his followers into the prison plane of Gozog’nok, sealing Elidrè’el in unbreakable shackles. From then on, Elidrè’el was called Malis, which means “Evil.”
Role in Cosmology
Malis remains bound within Gozog’nok. He cannot act directly but whispers into the dreams and ambitions of the corruptible. He influences the rise of dark empires, fallen deities, and heretical sects across Yedistren and beyond. The Malisik—spirits who followed him—serve as his agents, continuing his ancient war.
Corruption of the Sebuuk
When the ancient race known as the Sebuuk sought mortality, they were denied by the First-Flames. Malis exploited their impatience, enticing them with false promises. This manipulation led to the First War, the inversion of a Nexus Star (Lethurèa), and ultimately, the curse of the Sebuuk.
Malismorai and Prophets
Malis’s most devoted servant is Malismorai, a fallen warrior who became the first Malisik Prophet. Using the Vital Essence of slain spirits, Malismorai created new bodies for the Malisik, waging endless war across galaxies.
Forbidden Knowledge and Symbols
Malis’s essence corrupts weapons and artifacts. His infamous Gurga Blades, used by Vurgorô, produce black flames and inflict soul-rotting wounds. His followers revere his symbols of black flame, a broken circle, and abyssal stars.
Vital Essence and War
Malis requires Vital Essence—the life-force torn from spirits during violent death—to escape his prison. He demands war, chaos, and sacrifice to feed his prison’s seams with suffering. The Book of Evil describes this process and is feared across the Free Species.
Prophecy and Judgment
According to prophecy, Final Judgment (Lethurèa) shall come, and all spirits shall be judged. Even Malis will hear the Final Call (Lethurèa), though he cannot answer it. He will be dragged in chains before the thrones of the Mother and Father, judged for his crimes, and cast eternally into Gozog’nok.
Cultural Legacy
Though his name is feared, Malis’s legacy shapes every religion and myth in Lethurèa. He represents the temptation of forbidden power, the fall from grace, and the price of unrepentant pride. Yet even in darkness, his story reminds mortals of the freedom to choose, and the cost of rebellion.
