Final Judgment (Lethurèa)
Final Judgment is the ultimate reckoning of all spirits in the Lethurèa cosmology, decreed by Meera Jenlek, Merrik Jenlek, and Lethurèa at the close of mortal history.
Origins and Purpose
Final Judgment occurs after every spirit across the Continuum has lived, died, and fulfilled their mortal cycle. It is not a cyclical event, but a singular final decree that ends mortal existence and places all spirits into their eternal states.
The Judges
The only arbiters are the Mother, Father, and Lethurèa herself. No First-Flames, Naa’ôna, or other beings participate. The Divine Parents have witnessed every act and summon the spirits of those harmed to act as witnesses.
The Process
Spirits are judged equally based on:
- Their deeds
- Whether those they wronged forgive them
- Their adherence to the Divine Laws
The judgment is final, and no spirit may deceive or evade truth.
Outcomes
The judgment produces four fates:
- Ascension to Divinity: The most righteous become Deity (Lethurèa).
- Immortality in It'slémwé: Spirits who lived mostly righteously or were forgiven.
- Immortality in Yedistren: Spirits deemed neutral or unable to fulfill full divine laws.
- Eternal imprisonment in Gozog’nok: Those who committed great evil and never repented.
Spirits lost in Voyd or fragmented across planes are gathered and reformed for judgment.
Notable Judgments
- Malis is judged for every crime and cast into Gozog’nok eternally.
- Malismorai is reformed from his soul-shards, judged, and imprisoned.
- Malisik and Sebuuk who show repentance are given immortality in Yedistren; others are cast into Gozog’nok.
Prophecy of Aftermath
A prophecy states that the most righteous will live eternally with the Divine Parents, becoming as they are. The wicked will remain sealed eternally.
Mortal Understanding
Cultures across the multiverse retain varying beliefs of Final Judgment. Some perform pre-death rites in hopes of mercy, though these rituals have no bearing on the outcome. Many species use Judgment Day as motivation to live by righteous codes.
The Nature of Time
To Divines, the event is perceived as instantaneous. To spirits undergoing judgment, it may feel as though an eternity passes.
The Final Call
The Final Call (Lethurèa) summons all remaining spirits. Even Malis hears it, though he cannot answer. The Naa’ôna bind him in shackles and deliver him to stand before the Divine Court.
