Sentient Species
The High Yalaerin are the engineered apex subspecies of the Yalaerin, created during the monumental genetic overhaul known as the Regenesis. Designed to unify the species’ fractured lineages and elevate Magicka potential, the High Yalaerin became the ruling demographic of the Yalaerin Empire. Their physiology was built for efficiency, aesthetics, reproductive safety, and long-term stability.
Biology
High Yalaerin anatomy represents a purposeful redesign of baseline Yalaerin physiology. Their bodies were engineered for improved Magicka flow, controlled aesthetics, reduced sexual conflict, and safer reproduction.
Engineered Sexual Dimorphism
The Regenesis program amplified and refined sexual dimorphism between males and females:
- Females were engineered with permanently full breasts, a continuous expression of mammary development rather than the cyclical lactation swelling seen in baseline Yalaerin.
- Female pelvic structure was widened and reinforced, providing safer birthing pathways for infants with the species’ characteristic large cranial volume.
- Males were genetically increased in stature, averaging 200 cm, creating a visually distinct and socially symbolic dimorphism.
Male Genital Modification
Baseline Yalaerin males possessed notably large genitalia, typically around 10 inches in length and 2 inches in width when fully engorged. Because baseline females were significantly smaller and frequently injured by these proportions—especially during first intercourse—the Regenesis deliberately reduced High Yalaerin male genital size.
This alteration:
- protected smaller engineered females from traumatic injury
- reduced mating-based social aggression
- stabilized reproductive harmony across the redesigned population
The modification became a hallmark of High Yalaerin reproductive engineering: practical, clinical, and socially motivated.
Enhanced Cognitive and Magicka Capacity
High Yalaerin maintain enlarged cranial structures, but with improved neural lattices designed to:
- increase Magicka bandwidth
- reduce psionic instability
- refine long-duration spellcasting
- stabilize emotional modulation
These enhancements made them the most Magicka-proficient variant of Yalaerin to date.
Culture and Sociopolitical Role
Following the Regenesis, High Yalaerin rose rapidly to dominance. Their engineered uniformity, aesthetic appeal, and Magicka superiority reshaped the empire’s internal hierarchy.
Post-Regenesis Supremacy
High Yalaerin assumed near-total cultural and governmental authority. Their creation was framed as both a biological triumph and a spiritual renewal, allowing them to supersede the divided Laymonian and Dakmonian castes.
While officially promoting unity, High Yalaerin elites continued to enforce strict reproductive policies, ensuring their lineage remained unchallenged.
Attitudes Toward Hybrids
High Yalaerin vary widely in their views of mixed ancestry:
- Those raised inside the empire often hold rigid purity doctrines.
- Those born or living outside the empire show more acceptance toward unions with, Dakmonian Nordite, Lekaran, Telerian, and other non-Yalaerin species.
Children of mixed High-Yalaerin heritage are labeled:
- Neo Yalaerin — neutral
- Nokayalae — derogatory
The most reviled hybrid type is the Nokadakmonian, born of High Yalaerin and Dakmonian pairing, outlawed within imperial space.
