Hydrogen Sulfide
Overview
Hydrogen Sulfide is a colorless, poisonous, and flammable gas with a distinct sulfurous odor. Common in Flatus and Flatus-Prime Atmosphere worlds, it signals active biochemistry and geothermal venting.
Properties
H₂S behaves as a weak acid and reducing agent. When oxidized, it forms Sulfur Dioxide or elemental sulfur. In psionic environments, it interacts with Darkon radiation to form transient shadow-mists.
Uses and Occurrences
Present in decaying swamps, volcanic vents, and the metabolisms of anaerobic organisms. Divine chemists occasionally use it in controlled combustion for illumination in shadow rituals.
