Elder Valorèin[edit | edit source]
Overview[edit | edit source]
The Elder Valorèin are the legendary, primordial ancestors of all Valorèin species in Lethurèa. Designed by the First-Flames as mighty guardians, they rose to prominence as both scholars and warriors—only to meet extinction or transformation during the rebellion against their celestial overlords, the Sherok. No true Elder Valorèin remain; their legacy lives on through their altered descendants.

- Gem-like eyes and metallic hair, often displaying multiple rare colors
- Four lungs, two quadruple-chambered hearts, dual livers, four kidneys, and a highly efficient digestive tract
- Superior senses: able to detect motion at miles’ distance, hear heartbeats across great spans, and sense blood from afar
- Most notable for strong telepathic abilities and weak psionic field known as the Vistrum
Psionics & Spiritual Traits[edit | edit source]
- All Elder Valorèin possessed potent psionic abilities, including empathic communication, telekinesis, and mind-over-matter feats

- Certain bloodlines could commune directly with the Mother and Father
History[edit | edit source]
The Rebellion & Transformation[edit | edit source]
The Elder Valorèin served the Sherok as honored guardians, but centuries of oppression and the temptation of freedom from Malismorâ led to a cataclysmic rebellion. As they breached the Council Chambers of the Grand Citadel, the Curse (Valorèin) was unleashed—those present were instantly transformed, becoming the cursed High Valorèin. Only Elder Valorèin who fled to the Cities in the Stars were spared physical transformation, but their DNA, spiritual energy, and psionics were irrevocably changed. All subsequent generations inherited these alterations, marking the end of the Elder Valorèin as a true species.
Legacy & Relics[edit | edit source]
Some legends claim the existence of an untouched Gene Codex, a mythical artifact capable of restoring the Valorèin to their pre-Curse glory. Classical Valorèin art, martial traditions (such as the ancient Ûk and Kledrad weapons), and family structures all draw direct inspiration from Elder Valorèin innovations.
Culture[edit | edit source]
Religion & Spirituality[edit | edit source]
- Elder Valorèin were uniquely able to commune with the Mother and Father through ritual prayer in sacred temples. This gift has been lost to their descendants, and temple-building is now seen as obsolete.
- Belief in It'slâmwâ, the afterlife, and the guidance of ancestral spirits
Social Practices[edit | edit source]
- Nudity was divine, symbolizing purity and openness; family and multigenerational complexes were central
- The sacred act of Lifemating was foundational, with the act binding partners for eternity via soul-tethering
- Uulum zones on the body revealed emotional states, reinforcing cultural transparency
Innovations[edit | edit source]
- Earliest Valorèin art styles, now revered as “classical” in descendant cultures
- Origin of open-hand and weapon martial arts traditions, including unarmored combat (now rare) and the development of the Ûk and Kledrad swords
Legacy[edit | edit source]
- Those bearing the rare “High Valorèin trait” (height, strong telepathy) are especially revered as living connections to Elder Valorèin lineage
- Merik Teslek and Mêra Ûrlek Teslek are the only known individuals to trace their ancestry directly to the Ancient Hero and Heroine of the Elder Valorèin era
- Modern Valorèin view their ancestors as vastly superior in power and wisdom, but also as a cautionary tale of pride and rebellion
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Elder Valorèin believed temple rituals were essential for spiritual communion—a tradition lost and now seen as obsolete
- Some believe that restoring the Gene Codex could bring about a “second dawn” of the Elder Valorèin
- Size and telepathy are the strongest markers of ancient blood
- The Elder Valorèin’s preference for nude combat inspired the aesthetic of “classical” Valorèin statuary
