Zarkest is the most volatile of the Celestial Elements. Comparable to hydrogen in conceptual structure, it contains enough energetic density that a single molecule can propel a starship to lightspeed.

Properties

  • Holds extreme spacetime-bending energy
  • Perfectly stable until intentionally activated
  • Reacts by warping geometry rather than burning
  • Incredibly dangerous if mishandled
  • Emits faint exotic spectral signatures

Even microscopic leakage of Zarkest can devastate moons or planetary surfaces.

Distribution

Zarkest is hidden within the silicate-rock cores of gas giants in Lethurîa, held stable by intense pressure and gravity. The First-Flames concealed it there out of fear of misuse.

Uses

  • Stardrives
  • Dimensional tunneling
  • High-tier propulsion systems
  • (Forbidden) cosmic weaponry
