Elder Valorîin (Rare Playable Species Template)

The Elder Valorîin are an extinct titanic psionic species whose surviving bloodlines echo through the descendants of the Valorik Family. Designed by the First-Flames as guardians of Yedistren, their power once rivaled the Sherok themselves. Though long vanished, rare individuals may appear in the Continuum Universes Role-Playing Game as mythic-tier playable characters—beings chosen only when the cosmos stands on the edge of collapse.

Overview

The Elder Valorîin represent the highest biological achievement of the Valorik lineage. Standing between 12 and 20 feet tall with dense musculature, multiple heart–lung structures, psionic bonds, and mythic-level resilience, they are unmatched among mortal-born species.

Playing an Elder Valorîin is not a power fantasy; it is a narrative responsibility.

Lore Summary

Created by Meera and Merrik, the First-Flames, the Elder Valorîin were the root species of the entire Valorik Family. They rebelled against the Sherok, were cursed, and ultimately became extinct.

Their physiology includes:

  • Six-ton lifting capability
  • Six-times-dense musculature
  • Quad lungs, dual quad hearts
  • Extreme sensory range
  • Gem-like eyes
  • Vistrum Bond psionics

Playable Role

Elder Valorîin are rare and GM-restricted. They should only be used in campaigns with:

  • cosmic horrors
  • divine entities
  • Void incursions
  • timeline collapse
  • multiversal threats

One Elder Valorîin per campaign is recommended.

Power Tier

Mortals: 1–100 Enhanced mortals: 80–250 High Valorîin / psionics: 200–350 Elder Valorîin: 400–800 Sherok: 800–1000 Divine: 1000+

Stat Ranges

Strength: 300–450 Endurance: 400–600 Constitution: 350–500 Intelligence: 300–450 Perception: 350–550 Will: 400–700 Wit: 250–400

Abilities

  • Titanic Physique
  • Vistrum Bond (telepathy/empathy)
  • Moderate telekinesis
  • Psychic persuasion
  • Rare illusion-casting
  • Extreme environmental resilience

Vulnerabilities

  • Void corruption
  • Divine smiting/curses
  • Conceptual and entropic attacks
  • Psionic overload

Elder Valorîin excel against physical or mundane threats but are challenged by metaphysical enemies.

Limitations

  • Cannot fit in most buildings or tunnels
  • Cannot use normal armor or weapons
  • Require titan-scale crafting or relic-level equipment
  • Social impact: feared, revered, never subtle
  • Stealth nearly impossible

Roleplay Notes

An Elder Valorîin character wrestles with:

  • species-level trauma
  • enormous responsibility
  • isolation
  • being perceived as a living omen

They are hope incarnate when all else has failed.

GM Guidelines

Use Elders as:

  • set-piece characters
  • anchors for cosmic storytelling
  • keys to ancient mysteries
  • final-line defenders

They trivialize standard foes but are vulnerable to cosmic ones.
