Overview

Mnemon-3 is a self-replicating cognitive nanospore designed for neural data preservation. Originally created as a means to encode living memories into the air itself, it now drifts uncontrolled through abandoned vaults and derelict archives. Inhalation causes momentary overlap between one’s own memories and those stored in the mist.

Physical and Psionic Properties

Each Mnemon-3 particle acts as a mnemonic cell, holding up to 3 megaseconds of sensory data. Psionic excitation replays stored experience as hallucination, often merging with the observer’s identity. The gas exhibits hive-memory behavior — individual motes linking into coherent thought when clustered.

Phases

  • **Gas:** Dispersed, semi-dormant.
  • **Mist:** Active, luminescent, communicative.
  • **Condensate:** Used as data storage gel (“memory fog”).

Uses and Occurrences

  • Legacy data storage in ancient Continuum libraries.
  • Currently banned due to psychic infection risk.

Trivia

  • Mnemon-3 is rumored to remember the entire lifespan of its creators.
  • Exposure causes shared dreams where voices whisper archived thoughts.
  • Some Continuum sages believe it is slowly rewriting history.
